Fort Caroline National Memorial

This is a National Park Service reconstruction of what they believe the French Fort de la Caroline (1654) probably looked like.
It is in roughly the right area. The fort was destroyed by the Spanish and the settlers massacred.

St Augustine

Old St Augustine

St Augustine was founded by the Spanish in 1565 and is the oldest continually occupied European settlement in the US.

Castillo de San Marcos

The Castillo de San Marcos (1672) was built by the Spanish to hold off the encroaching French and English.
